ThinkSystem NVIDIA CX8 PCIe Gen5 x16 Passive Aux Kit

This option kit comes with the following components.

  • An auxiliary connection card

  • One black cable

  • Spare bracket

  • Documentation

Option installation

To install the ThinkSystem NVIDIA CX8 PCIe Gen5 x16 Passive Aux Kit (auxiliary connection card) with the ThinkSystem NVIDIA ConnectX-8 8240 400GbE / 400Gb/s IB QSFP112 2-port PCIe Gen6 x16 (Generic FW) (main card) into PCIe slots, complete the following steps:

  1. Locate the MCIO connectors on the auxiliary connection card, and attach the MCIO Harness (the black cable) to the card until you hear a click sound.

  2. Locate the MCIO connectors on the main card, and attach the MCIO Harness (the black cable) to the card until you hear a click sound.

  3. Gently insert the auxiliary connection card into the PCIe slot, applying even pressure until it is fully seated.

  4. Tighten the bracket screw to secure the auxiliary connection card in place.
